23 May 2008, Kuala Lumpur ┅ The Xiao En Group has donated RM 100,000 in support of the disaster relief operations of the Sze Chuan earthquake in China. The cheque was presented to the Chinese Ambassador, His Excellency Cheng Yong Hua by Xian En Group Chairman, Datin Choo Lein Sei Keng.
Datin Choo said that supporting the disaster relief efforts in assisting the victims to rebuild their life is in line with their group's philosophy - to respect the elderly as we would our parents, and to care for the young as we would our children. Datin Choo also expressed her deepest condolence and empathy towards the victims of the disaster.
"The disaster relief efforts to help the victims are essential and have to be carried out as soon as possible. There are the elderly who have lost their dependents and children who have temporarily lost the chance of an education. As a Corporate that grows and nurtures the Chinese Culture, we have an obligation to help these victims get back on their feet and back to a normal life," said Datin Choo.
She added, "Should there be a request from victims for assistance to rebuild their homes in future, the Xiao En Group will in itself or through our cultural partner in China be willing to lend a support wherever possible within out capacity."
